     It is a shame that most, if not all, romantic comedies are considered ‘chick flicks’. I believe it is a generalization. I think men can be just as capable as women in appreciating this genre of movie, but because of this generalization, most men won’t bother trying. That being said, after seeing “The Proposal” I would have to classify it as BOTH a romantic comedy and a chick flick. This is not a negative observation, because it is a quality movie. I never saw the original 1974 film with Walter Matthau and Robert Shaw, so I cannot say with any certainty if it is better or worse. What I can say is that I enjoyed the ride I was taken on while watching “The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3” the other night. The pacing is extremely tight and fast.  The film does a remarkable job of keeping your interest by moving constantly. Despite being a remake of a film made over 30 years ago, it also manages to be very topical given our current economic situation. This is an action-packed
